This single-family home on the southern foot of the Jura mountains was skilfully crafted to suit the wind and weather conditions. With the geothermal heat pump, a photovoltaic system and a building that is deliberately adapted to the local weather conditions, natural energy is expertly used all year round to ensure comfortable room temperatures.

In the case of this new, timber-constructed home in Oberdorf, Solothurn, the architecture, which is adapted to the local wind and weather conditions (for example, its design incorporates an L-shaped corner to protect the terrace from the wind), is not the only thing that captivates; there is also an interplay between the building technology and nature.Free air conditioning
To heat the rooms, the Optiheat All-in-One geothermal heat pump skilfully uses power from the roof and also from the network during the night. During summer, the underfloor heating is converted into free air conditioning, thanks to free cooling. The room temperature can therefore be lowered by 2 to 4°C. The hot water heating system is also well-thought-out. An independent heat pump boiler uses room air to heat domestic hot water and simultaneously cools and dehumidifies the room, making it suitable for use as storage space.
